Photographing Molly Newlun and KitKat for their Equestrian Brand Portraits at Liberty Lane Stables this past July was a memorable experience. It was a testament to the power of talent, dedication, and the unbreakable bond between a determined young equestrian and her equine partner. As they prepared to make their mark at the NBHA Youth & Teen Championships in Georgia, I couldn’t help but feel privileged to have captured the spirit of this remarkable duo.
Molly, with her beaming smile and infectious energy, radiated a sense of confidence that only comes from countless hours dedicated to her horses and the sport. While only partnered for a relatively short time, the connection between Molly and KitKat is palpable in and out of the saddle. KitKat settled into Molly’s energy on the ground and really showcased their cooperation throughout their runs around the barrels.
I am honoured to have played a small part in documenting this incredible chapter of Molly and KitKat’s story. I look forward to following Molly’s journey to even greater heights in the world of barrel racing and celebrating all her future successes.
While victory in the ring is surely a goal and part of the process, it’s not just about the races won; it’s about the bond forged between a determined rider and her equally determined mare, and the moments in between that define a champion. Molly and KitKat are living proof of this fact, and I’m grateful to have shared in their journey through my lens.
